AAP Clinical Practice Guideline: Diagnosis and Evaluation of the Child with ADHD
According to American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) guidelines, in order for a child to receive an ADHD diagnosis, they must meet the criteria for the disorder as outlined in the DSM-IV, and evidence must be gathered directly from parents, caregivers, and classroom teachers on the child’s behavior in various settings.
